Sofwave

Sofwave Medical develops advanced, non-invasive aesthetic technology that uses proprietary ultrasound energy to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production. Its Sofwave™ system delivers precise energy to the skin’s mid-dermis, helping improve fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity with minimal downtime. Clinically proven and FDA-cleared for multiple aesthetic indications, Sofwave treatments offer a safe, comfortable solution for natural-looking skin rejuvenation.

How is the Sofwave administered?

Sofwave is administered as a non-invasive ultrasound treatment applied externally to the skin—there are no injections and no surgery involved.

How Sofwave is administered

  1. Skin preparation

    • The treatment area (face, neck, or body) is cleaned.

    • A topical numbing cream is usually applied for about 30–45 minutes to reduce discomfort.

  2. Ultrasound gel applied

    • A conductive ultrasound gel is spread on the skin to help transmit energy from the device into the tissue.

  3. Handheld device treatment

    • The clinician uses a handheld Sofwave device and moves it across the skin.

    • The device delivers short pulses of focused ultrasound energy every few seconds to the mid-dermis (~1.5 mm depth).

  4. Collagen stimulation

    • The ultrasound energy creates controlled heat in the dermal layer, which stimulates collagen and elastin production, tightening the skin over time

What areas can Sofwave treat?

Sofwave is commonly used to treat areas where skin laxity and wrinkles develop, including the eyebrows, forehead, around the eyes, cheeks, jawline, neck, and under the chin. It is particularly popular for achieving a non-surgical brow lift and improving facial wrinkles.

Is Sofwave painful?

Most patients find Sofwave very tolerable. A topical numbing cream is usually applied before treatment to minimize discomfort. During the procedure you may feel brief warm pulses or mild heat, but the treatment is generally well tolerated.

When will I see results and how long do they last?

Many patients begin to see improvements within 4–6 weeks, with continued results developing over 8–12 weeks as new collagen forms. Results can last up to a year or longer, depending on your skin condition and aging process. Many patients choose annual maintenance treatments for prolonged results.

How long does a Sofwave treatment take and is there downtime?

A typical Sofwave treatment takes about 30–60 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. There is little to no downtime, and most patients return to normal activities immediately after their appointment. Some mild redness may occur but usually resolves within a few hours.

I was so happy with my Sofwave treatment. There was an immediate effect, but it was a few days later that my skin felt a lot tigther and I could see the reduction in wrinkles.  A couple of weeks after treatment my friends were commenting that something looked different with my face, that I looked amazing,  and they were wondering what treatment I had!  I would definitely get a Sofwave treatment again, maybe on my neck next time, but definitely annually as recommended.
