Sofwave is administered as a non-invasive ultrasound treatment applied externally to the skin—there are no injections and no surgery involved.
How Sofwave is administered
-
Skin preparation
-
The treatment area (face, neck, or body) is cleaned.
-
A topical numbing cream is usually applied for about 30–45 minutes to reduce discomfort.
-
-
Ultrasound gel applied
-
A conductive ultrasound gel is spread on the skin to help transmit energy from the device into the tissue.
-
-
Handheld device treatment
-
The clinician uses a handheld Sofwave device and moves it across the skin.
-
The device delivers short pulses of focused ultrasound energy every few seconds to the mid-dermis (~1.5 mm depth).
-
-
Collagen stimulation
-
The ultrasound energy creates controlled heat in the dermal layer, which stimulates collagen and elastin production, tightening the skin over time
